While most people are familiar with the popular Windows and Mac OS X applications for image and video processing, there are also a host of tools available for Linux based operating systems. Most of these tools are also free (see the list below). Note: Freeware and GNU General Public Licenses may come with some restrictions, especially for commercial organizations, they are great resources for single license non-commercial purposes. Be sure to check the copyright and licensing requirements from each application.
